I am continuing to provide mobile notary service. California requires physical appearance for all notarizations so precautions are necessary to keep us both safe and healthy. I will balance precautions with compliance to CA state notary law. Although physical appearance of the signer is required, I will adhere to CDC guidelines to protect everyone. Also, thumbprints for all real estate and POA documents are still required.
How I am continuing to deliver safe and reliable mobile notary service
Follow CDC requirements, such as social distancing (as close to 6 feet as the space will allow). If that is not possible, outside signings are also a popular option.
Survey pre-appointment of the health of signers, others in the home for the last 14 days.
Pre-sanitizing of tools and hands and use of gloves during the appointment.
Use of Signer’s own pen, or I will provide a new pen.
Wearing a mask during the appointment, I suggest the signer wear one as well.
Sanitizing of the journal, seal, thumb printer, and other frequently touched tools.
I will not accept appointments if I am ill or another person in my household was ill in the last 14 days.
*During the Pandemic, I will not perform signings in high risk facilities such as Jails & Prisons, Covid-19 Wards, Skilled Nursing or, Assisted Living facilities. These are considered high-risk signers in high-risk environments. Not only could I potentially be exposed to the virus by entering those spaces, I could also pass the virus to others as I interact with other businesses, clients, neighbors and family.
